Due to continuous rains brought by the southwest monsoon which was enhanced by typhoon “Luis”, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued a “yellow” rainfall warning in the provinces of Cavite, Batangas, Quezon and Bataan at 7 a.m. Sunday.
Under the heavy rainfall warning system, a yellow rainfall advisory is raised when the expected rainfall amount is between 7.5 mm and 15 mm within one hour and likely to continue.
Communities given this advisory are advised to be aware of the weather condition and warned that flooding may be possible in low-lying areas.
It added that light to moderate rains affecting Metro Manila, Rizal, Bulacan, Laguna, Pampanga, Zambales, Nueva Ecija and Tarlac may persist within three hours.
Residents of the said areas must take precautionary measures and the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council concerned are advised to monitor the weather condition and watch for the next advisory to be issued at 10:00 a.m. today. PNA
