Yemen casualties arrive home


THE remains of the seven Filipinos who died in the terrorist attack in Yemen have arrived in the county.

The overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) said four of the victims arrived in Manila while the three others have a direct flight to the

Diosdado Macapagal International Airport, in Clark, Pampanga province.

All the fatalities worked as nurses and doctor at a  hospital in Yemen.

The human remains of OFWs Dr. Ruben Valenzuela,  nurses  Hezel Pueblos, Edward Anthony de Guzman, and Rosita Santiago arrived on Tuesday via Emirates Airways flight EK 336.

In the meantime, the remains of nurses Marivic Badenas, Aurora Gormate and Mariane David will arrived  at  3:55  p.m. on Tuesday at the Diosdado Macapagal International Airport, Clark, Pampanga.

Department of Labor and Employment Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz  instructed OWWA Administrator Carmelita  Dimzon to extend full assistance to the families of the OFWs.

According to Dimzon, some of the families of the fatalities  have  come to  OWWA to ask for help.

Dimzon  said OWWA offers scholarship and livelihood assistance to the survivors or legal dependents aside from the death and burial benefits.  RITCHIE A. HORARIO
