Still undecided on who to vote for this coming elections because of overwhelming campaign promises? Naku, Boss Ko!, a new program starring young love team Gabbi Garcia and Ruru Madrid may be able to help.

A first in Philippine television, Naku, Boss Ko! mixes the sarcastic wit of a political satire and the feel-good vibe that a romantic comedy brings. This eight-part political rom-com series will try to expose the absurdity and hypocrisy of some of the campaign strategies employed by some, if not most politicians today.

As the show sees the reunion of Garcia and Madrid, the latter plays the part of a reluctant mayoral candidate of the Town of Malaya. Jon G., as he is known, may sometimes be a mischievous brat, but has good intentions for his town all the same. Unfortunately, his campaign is run by his corrupt father, a certified “trapo” or traditional politician.

Garcia, on the other hand, is Che, a political activist who has deep-seated hatred for “trapos.” Ironically, she falls for the charms of the dashing and mischievously handsome Jon G. who comes from the likes of politicians she despises.

Completing the cast are Leo Martinez as the power-hungry OMG, Jon G’s father, and Tessie Tomas as Miss F, the shrewd and extremely politically savvy campaign manager and spin doctor.

As part of the GMA Network’s election advocacy campaign, Naku, Boss Ko! seeks to show that Philippine politics is no laughing matter and it hopes to help voters choose wisely on election day. The show is directed by the highly acclaimed director of Ang Babaesa Septic Tank, Marlon Rivera, written by Palanca hall of famer Rody Vera and multi-awarded indie writer-director Zig Dulay, with a concept by Patty Gutierrez.

It will air Mondays to Thursdays, beginning tonight at 10:15 p.m. on GMA Telebabad.
