Despite calls to postpone the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) polls, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) has decided to proceed with its preparations as it opened bidding process for forms and supplies that will be used for the February 21, 2015 youth balloting.
The Comelec’s Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) said it had started inviting interested vendors to provide the forms and supplies valued at about P37 million.
It added that a total budget of P27,986,565.80 has been approved for the supply and delivery of the poll paraphernalia, including ball pens, plastic security seals, fingerprint takers, indelible inks and ballot secrecy folders.
Also, the BAC said there is P9,357,736.74 budget allocated for printing and delivery of tally sheets, minutes of voting and counting of votes, paper seals, certificates of votes, official receipts of Election Returns, Oath of Voter Challenged, General Instructions for Board of Election Tellers and envelopes for election returns, among others.
“Bids received in excess of the Approved Budget for the Contract [ABC] of the item/s subject of the bidder’s offer shall be automatically rejected at bid opening,” it added.
All interested bidders, the BAC said, can now purchase the complete set of bidding documents for the printing and delivery of election forms and envelopes until December 9; and supply and delivery of the election forms and supplies until December 8.
