• Youths want Aquino ousted for holding on to Luisita

    4

A MILITANT youth group on Saturday demanded that President Benigno Aquino 3rd resign for reneging on his promise to distribute the 6,453-hectare Hacienda Luisita to farmer workers in defiance of a Supreme Court ruling in 2012.

Anakbayan made the call as the nation marked the 10th anniversary of the “Hacienda Luisita massacre” in which soldiers opened fire on striking farmworkers, killing seven of them.

“The injustice in Luisita continues until today. The haciendero Aquino government is resorting to devious schemes to keep the land despite the ruling of the Supreme Court ordering its distribution,” Vencer Crisostomo, Akbayan national chairperson, said in a statement.

The group claimed that Virgina Torres, the former chief of the Land Transportation Office’s (LTO), is now involved in schemes to retake “distributed” lots in Luisita. Torres is a known family friend of the Cojuangco-Aquinos.

As much as P471 million were reportedly given to the Cojuangco-Aquinos through the Disbursement Acceleration Program (DAP) for “landlord compensation” despite their continuing control of Luisita.

“Aquino should resign or be removed from power. He is obviously using his power for his and his own landlord family’s gain. He is a criminal and his hands are covered with the blood of the farmers killed for fighting for their rights,” Crisostomo said.

    1. He is doing very similar things to president obama. Yet the philnews.com were telling people to vote for obama as the republicans are ruining the usa. It seems presidents anywhere can do what they want. I think a better system is what we have in the uk, but the philippines would never copy that as they see how others do it good & they look to make it more complicated.
Another example is korea. When the ferry sank i think less than a year ago well its already gone to trial & a verdict reached & the ships captain has been sentanced to 36 years in jail. If that was in the philippines they would be now sending their 2nd affidavidt. Then the ships captain would want to have a medical check up, they there would be applications for bail, then applicatiions to have the case junked through no evidence, but the koreans investigate it see there is evidence & take it to court & get a verdict.

    2. If PNoy resigns, then Binay takes over! Still, Hacienda Luisita stays with the Cojuangco-Aquinos, is that it?

Hacienda Luisita is the symbol of oligarchy and insensitivity and negates all what this sitting president is talking about good governance, “matuwid na daan” and “kung walang kurap, walang mahirap”. Most of all, it’s a symbol of hypocracy . You’re the future of the country. Right on!

Aquino has violated every bit of the Philippine Constitution. A very simple statement contained in the Basic Law of the land says:” IGNORANCE OF THE LAW EXCUSES NO ONE.” Whether you are a Juan de la Cruz or a President of the Republic, equality in every rights should be enforced to the strictest measure. This President who is called by the intellectuals as a LEGAL RETARDATE, does not have any reason to stay in Malacanian Palace. Let us not wait for his term to end. We must drive him out now as the longer he stays there, the more damage he will do and the people will suffer the most in the next two years to come. Ituwid natin ang ating pagkakamali, huwagna sana nating hayaan na kong sino-sino nalang ang magiging pangulo natin.
