ONLINE shopping platform Zalora has launched its second pop-up store in Bonifacio Global City to reach more customers and encourage more Filipino shoppers to shop online.
Paulo Campos 3rd, Zalora Philippines co-founder and chief executive officer, said the pop-up store is expected to run in six months from July to January 2017, and will serve as the “digital showroom” of their fashion apparel products available online.
“Only 1 percent of our products online are offered at the store . . . This highly interactive store is aimed at educating those who are unfamiliar about ecommerce,” Campos said during the BGC pop-up store launch on Tuesday.
“We want [Filipinos] to swipe that card. Aside from new customer acquisition, this pop-up store aims to increase awareness of the brand,” he added.
Zalora opened its first pop-up store at the EDSA Shangri-La Mall. At the pop-up shop, Zalora online customers can see, touch, and try on their products physically before making a purchase.
There are no traditional POS machines to register the purchases. Customers can make their purchases by computer or smartphone through the Zalora online shopping site.
There are fashion consultants and Zalora staff in every pop-up store who can help customers find the right fashion styles according to their needs and also assist them in trying out online shopping.
Zalora is set to feature different brands each week and their pop-up store also allows various forms of electronic payments such as credit cards and e-money accounts like Globe G-Cash and Pay Maya cards.
“Getting a transitional hybrid store where you can see and feel the goods, but more important, it introduces the people to the experience of e-commerce. The second thing we’re trying to do here is help proliferate e-money. In these Zalora pop-up stores, there’s no check-out counters, there’s no cash. You have to order through the app,” Globe Telecom Inc. president Ernest Cu told reporters at the event.
