Zamboanga college dean jumps to his death

ZAMBOANGA CITY: A college dean killed himself Monday by jumping off a building at the government school where he worked in Zamboanga City in southern Philippines, police said.

Police said Constancio Teofilo, PhD, of the Zamboanga State College Marine Science and Technology, was found dead in front of the school’s faculty building.

Teofilo’s colleagues, who described him as friendly and a religious man, said he arrived unusually early and went straight up to the third floor of the faculty building and jumped to his death.

He was rushed to a hospital, but doctors pronounced him dead on arrival due to a severe head injury.

It was not immediately known what drove Teofilo to kill himself. His family did not release any statement. AL JACINTO
