• Zamboanga focuses on anti-dengue campaign for school opening

ZAMBOANGA CITY: The City Health Office has set fumigation activities and search and destroy operations in the different public schools to minimize if not eradicate incidences of dengue fever in learning institutions. Dr. Rodelin Agbulos, city health officer, tasked the sanitary inspectors and other staffs to ramp up efforts in coordination with school officials for the smooth implementation of schedule. The City Health Office recorded 735 cases of dengue from January to April this year, which is higher by 151 incidences compared to that of the same period last year with 584.The issue about fumigation and search and destroy operations was among the topics discussed during the meeting earlier this week on “Oplan Bira Escuela (Balik Eskwela)” aimed to ensure a hassle-free and safe school opening. Agbulos said the fumigation activities were set to start during the Brigada Eskwela week when the school community gathers to prepare the school grounds for the opening of classes on June 13 and even during Saturdays and Sundays after the school opening.
