Philippine-based online property portal Zipmatch is launching a new technology that could make the usual “tripping” process to purchase a property a thing of the past.
Called the Zipmatch 360 Virtual Reality, the service allows real estate sellers to conduct on-demand viewing of residential projects or model units for homebuyers, without the need to make the actual trip to the property.
Using a goggle-like device provided by Zipmatch, the facility projects virtual 360-degree images of model units that real estate brokers are selling.
Powered by so-called Oculus Rift technology, the tool allows the prospective buyer to see how the unit looks like without being in the actual location.
Zipmatch co-founder Chow Paredes said the company has already a virtual collection of more than 300 model units located in Metro Manila.
She noted that once a broker avails of the 360 virtual reality service, he or she would have access to all of the over 300 model units.
Paredes said the firm’s inventory of virtual model units continues to grow, as it also targets to include model units from areas outside Metro Manila.
The real estate innovation is available via subscription under ZipMatch Pro, the start-up firm’s full-service technology-based toolbox for brokers, sales agents, developers, and real estate sellers.
Paredes said the firm has entered partnerships with real estate developers, such as Ayala Land Premier, Amaia Land, Crown Asia, and Anchor Land Holdings for the 360 virtual reality service.
Zipmatch claims to be the first provider of virtual reality technology for real estate in Southeast Asia.
