Over 300 participants, including Filipino celebrities, joined American Zumba sensation Melissa Chiz at the “Live, Love, Party” Zumba fitness event held recently at SM Aura in Taguig City.

Chiz flew all the way from the United States to show the latest fat-burning moves of the popular dance and aerobics fitness craze that has taken the Philippines by storm. She arrived on the invitation of Karl Edward International and Zumba Wear Philippines as part of the International Women’s Month celebration.

Chiz was surprised at the hospitable reception accorded to her by Filipinos and vowed to return.

“There is so much warmth and excitement here in the Philippines that l will definitely come back,” she said. “People are so fabulous and kind. The participants are simply spectacular.”

Big-name celebrities who attended the event were Jessica Soho, Amie Austria, Alma Concepcion, Regine Tolentino and her better half Lander Vera Perez (dubbed as the “King & Queen of Zumba”). Prizes were given to those who exemplified “Zumba energy.”

C-Lium Fibre, the all-natural fiber supplement that helps people live healthier, also took part in the party.

“We are proud to participate in this worthwhile event,” according to Catherine Reyes, C-Lium senior brand manager. “The event is very much in line with our vision of letting people achieve sound inner health through a combination of good diet, exercise and fiber supplementation.”

The company gave free samples at its booth to encourage people to discover the benefits of daily fiber intake.

The US-based National Fiber Council said fiber promotes a healthy digestive system and assists in weight management. It also helps lower cholesterol and blood sugar levels, leading to a reduced risk of cardiovascular disease and diabetes.

For those who missed the party, SM Aura and Karl Edward international will be hosting a monthly Zumba Fitness Party at the Samsung Hall to help Zumba fanatics sweat it out to keep fit.
