ALL right, the historic British marque is presently owned by the German VW Group which, incidentally, also counts among its stable of premium brands auto companies like Audi, Porsche and Lamborghini.

But Bentley remains as British as the Queen, with the carmaker still based at its storied Crewe factory in England. And, well, it remains as one of the best builders of sport/luxury cars on the planet.

Last week, the brand has appointed its Philippine distributor, and not surprisingly, it’s the country’s purveyor of Audi, Porsche and Lamborghini models.

PGA Automobile Inc., which belongs to the PGA Group, announced it has gotten the nod of Bentley Motors Ltd. to be the country’s sole importer and distributor of Bentley cars. The company added that its appointment covers not only the sales operations but also the after-sales services of the brand as it sets up a dedicated service facility that’s fully equipped to cater to Bentleys like the Continental GT and the Mulsanne.

Called Bentley Manila, the showroom and service facility will be housed at PGA Center in Greenhills, and are set to open in early 2013.
