MITSUBISHI TO LAUNCH NEW MIRAGE IN MUSIC FEST, EXPO
MITSUBISHI Motors Phils. Corp. (MMPC) announced it will launch the all-new Mitsubishi Mirage on November 16 in a night of fun and music as the company holds the Mirage Music Festival at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds.

MMPC said the country’s top bands like Pupil, General Luna, Up Dharma Down, Urbandub and others will perform. Besides the bands, MMPC said it will also give away raffle prizes such as Apple iPads, Toshiba Netbooks, Toshiba LCD TVs, and exclusive Mirage t-shirts, USB drives and wireless PC mouse devices.

The company said that the event is free, and that those interested in availing of tickets only need to visit a Mitsubishi Motors dealership in Metro Manila or in Luzon, inquire about the Mirage, and answer a short survey. For people who have reserved a Mirage under the pre-order exclusive, they can get in touch with the dealership where they booked their reservation.

Along with the music festival, MMPC said it will also hold a Mirage Expo where it is offering the car and other Mitsubishi models for test-drives. The Mirage Expo will run from November 16 to 18.

MMPC said that the Mirage Music Festival and Expo is its way of celebrating the return of the Mirage nameplate in the Philippines, as well as the company’s expression of appreciation for the continuous confidence and enthusiasm that the public shows to the Mitsubishi brand.

HYUNDAI DISTRIBUTOR’S SERVICE ADVISORS TOP GLOBAL TILT
HYUNDAI Asia Resources Inc. (HARI), distributor of Hyundai vehicles in the Philippines, announced that two of its personnel have won top honors at the 1st Hyundai Service Advisor Championship. Eduard de Guzman, who landed among the top 10 finalists, and Rommel Agpoon, stood out from among 62 participants from 44 countries to bag the Outstanding Skills and Recognized Skills Awards, respectively, exhibiting Hyundai’s continued commitment to service excellence, HARI said.

Recently held in Seoul, South Korea, the competition was conceived by Hyundai Motor Co. to honor and recognize the skills and abilities of the best Hyundai service advisors, fire their spirit of innovation, and foster pride for the brand, HARI said.

It added that the competition consisted of a written and a practical test. The written test assessed the participants’ grasp of Hyundai automotive technology, service advisory, information on warranty and the Hyundai Service Advisor Program, and basic technical knowledge. The practical test featured interviews and role-playing, which tested their understanding of the service process and their ability to handle real-life customer situations.

FEDEX, SAFE KIDS PHILS. PROMOTE ROAD SAFETY PROJECT
TRANSPORTATION company FedEx and Safe Kids Phils. (SKP) announced that as a result of the FedEx/Safe Kids Walk This Way Model School Zone Project they have launched earlier this year, more than 5,000 students, their parents and teachers can now safely walk to school in La Huerta, Parañaque.

FedEx and SKP said they have worked with representatives from the school, community, local officials and government agencies to collect sufficient data to assess the needs in the area and implement proper interventions to make the school zone safer. Physical modifications were then implemented within the school vicinity, including installation of road signs, painting of pedestrian lanes and a traffic barrier on Quirino Avenue, and installation of a waiting area for parents and a covered path walk inside Saint Andrew’s School.

FedEx added that traffic policies have been enforced to clear sidewalks of parked vehicles, and that crossing guards have been assigned in the area. To increase knowledge and awareness among road users, FedEx and SKP also conducted road safety seminars to fifth-grade students and teachers of Saint Andrew’s School.

“Safety is a core value at FedEx, and this goes beyond our operations,” said Rhicke Jennings, FedEx’s managing director for the Philippines and Indonesia. “We are committed to supporting initiatives that address child pedestrian safety issues in our communities by bringing greater awareness and creating safe walking environments.”

Since 2004, FedEx said it has been working with Safe Kids in the Philippines to promote road safety among children and communities through the Walk This Way program.
