Ford PH records best sales tally in October

All-new Ford Ranger heads brand’s October success in the Philippines.

FORD Phils. last week bared it had posted its all-time best monthly performance in October on strong demand for all the brand’s models, driving year-on-year sales 50-percent more to 1,248 units.

It added that the tally was boosted by the best-ever month for sales of the all-new Ford Ranger pickup, which recorded a 213-percent jump from its 282-unit total during the same month last year.

Also in October, Ford said its Everest SUV posted its strongest monthly result of the year with 311 units delivered. Ford Fiesta’s sales rose 26 percent from a year ago to 307 units, and the Ford Escape’s tally increased 67 percent to 142 units. The company credited the “availability of four newly launched vehicles,” which count the Ranger, Ford Explorer with EcoBoost, Ford Focus and the Ford Mustang, as factors for its performance.

“Customer response to our newly launched One Ford vehicles has been exceptional,” said Ford Phils. President Randy Krieger. “Our record performance in October is further evidence that Ford continues to deliver vehicles that our customers want and value, and just as important to them, that are affordable.”

Ford said it had sold 45 Mustangs in October while sales of the all-new Focus increased 22 percent month-over-month to 62 units.

In a related development, Ford announced it had also opened in October a new dealership in Cainta, Rizal—the first of 12 new facilities planned by the company to operate in the next six months.
