Concept One wheels take runner-up honors in SEMA show

CONCEPT One’s entry at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show awards emerged as a runner-up in the event’s wheels and related products category. Cited was the brand’s Executive CSL 5.5 alloy wheel that has a matte black face and glossy black lip.

The winning Concept One model—launched at SEMA—came in 19-inch by nine-inch pair of front wheels and 19-inch by 10.5-inch pair of rear wheels. It was fitted to a customized Nissan 370Z.

Concept One, a Filipino brand, has been participating in international auto shows like SEMA for the past few years.

“We launched this model at the SEMA show this year and we will soon bring this model to the Philippines,” said Sammy Liuson, managing partner of Wheel Gallery, which owns the Concept One brand.

In the automotive tuning and customization industry, manufacturers of alloy wheels are among the most prolific and competitive, according to Concept One, which noted that in this year’s edition of the SEMA show—held in Las Vegas, Nevada, in early November—around 50 wheel brands and manufacturers exhibited their products and competed for top honors.

Concept One added that more than 2,000 new wheel products were submitted in the 2012 SEMA show, and one of the coveted award was for new product showcase. In the wheels category, the criteria for judging included superiority of innovation, technical achievement, quality and workmanship, consumer appeal and marketability.

Wheel Gallery, which is marking its 10th year, also distributes European tuning and wheel brands Carlsson, BBS and Kelleners.
