Ford PH continues upward trend in November

All-new Ranger leads Ford’s assault.

FORD Phils. reported its sales rose 46 percent year-over-year to 1,225 units, its second-best monthly performance following record figures logged in October.

Ford said the strong November performance was led by an all-time record month for the Ford Ranger pickup, with the all-new model accounting for 344 units sold. The Ranger was launched in the Philippines in July.

“Exceptional customer response to our newly launched One Ford vehicles, like the all-new Ranger, is helping drive record sales,” said Ford Phils. President Randy Krieger. “By offering customers the widest range of Ford vehicles ever in the Philippines, our brand is connecting with, and appealing to, a much wider variety of lives and lifestyles.”

Ford said the all-new Ford Explorer also performed well in November as the model posted its second-highest monthly sales since its launch—or 107 units. Also in the same month, sales of the Ford Fiesta increased 9 percent from the previous year to 248 units, with the five-door Fiesta retaining its position as the best-selling five-door hatchback in the country’s small-car segment.

In its third month of availability, the Ford Mustang has continued to exceed expectations with sales of 37 units, according to Ford, which added that 130 Mustangs have been delivered.

In addition to the introduction of “segment-leading One Ford vehicles,” Ford said it is also expanding its dealership network, and bared that it is in the process of opening 12 new dealerships over a six-month stretch. This will bring the company’s dealerships to 35, located across the country, by the second quarter of 2013.

In November, Ford opened Ford Pampanga and held a ground-breaking ceremeony at the new site of Ford Alabang, which will be one the largest full sales and service facilities in Asean.

“With the consecutive launches of our best-in-class Ford vehicles and the aggressive expansion of our nationwide dealer network, we are committed to going further and making the Ford brand even more accessible to our customers across the Philippines,” Krieger said.
