November sales results land Isuzu in fourth spot of PH auto industry

ISUZU Phils. Corp. has reported that its sales went up slightly in November when compared to its October tally, allowing the company to take the fourth spot in the domestic automotive industry ranking.

IPC Senior Vice President for Sales Arthur Balmadrid, citing figures from the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. and the Truck Manufacturers Association, bared that IPC sold 1,121 vehicles in November, up from the 1,033 vehicles it delivered in October.

Balmadrid noted IPC’s November growth comes against the automotive industry’s 3-percent decrease in the same month. He added that IPC’s tally jumped 22 percent on a year-to-year basis as the company have already sold 10,716 vehicles compared to the 8,791 units it sold from January to November last year.

IPC now holds an 8-percent share of the automotive industry, a point higher from what it held in the same period last year, according to Balmadrid.

IPC figures showed its Crosswind model, which in November is the second-bestselling AUV with a market share of 22 percent, saw sales of 669 while 216 D-Max pickups were sold in the same month.

Balmadrid also said IPC sold 141 units of the N-Series light-duty truck last month, so the model is “set to become the bestselling in its segment for an unmatched 14 consecutive years.”

The Isuzu executive said that IPC, which is celebrating its 15th inaugural anniversary this year, has “consistently reiterated its commitment to manufacture vehicles at its global standard-certified plant at the Laguna Technopark, ensuring employment for Filipinos.”

IPC assembles the Crosswind, D-Max, N-Series and other mid- to heavy-duty trucks at its plant.
