Max’s miracle

Max Collins finally gets her big break
“Good things come to those who wait.” No one knows this more than the beautiful Max Collins of GMA Network, who, after seven years of praying to the heavens for her big break finally got her miracle.

The 20-year-old Filipino-American started in showbiz when she was only 13 years old as part of ABS-CBN’s Star Circle Batch 15. She was cast in smorgasbord shows throughout her contract, prompting her crossover to GMA-7 in the hopes of gaining meatier roles.

“I almost gave up on show business,” she recalled to The Manila Times. “When my contract ended with ABS-CBN I went back to the States and worked, but I realized I really wanted to act so I came back home.”

Since becoming a Kapuso in 2011, Max has been cast in support roles in two teleseryes, namely The Good Daughter and the soon to be concluded Coffee Prince, where her talent finally shone through.

“Whatever role I was given, I accepted—big or small,” she shared. “I knew that I had to earn my dues so I’ve been very patient, even if it’s taken seven years of waiting.”

On Tuesday, the network presented the statuesque mestiza as a lead player in the grand cast of the forthcoming drama series Pahiram ng Sandali, alongside such acting geniuses as Lorna
Tolentino and Christopher de Leon, and with no less than one of the country’s most respected directors at the helm, Maryo J. delos Reyes.

“I’m still star struck,” Max gushed. “Napapanood ko lang sila sa movies and TV, and I never imagined I’d be acting with them. Napapaiyak pa rin ako when I think about everything that’s happening to me now.”

Max will figure in a love triangle with Lorna Tolentino and multi-awarded actor Dingdong Dantes in this compelling study of love and relationships. What makes her role even more challenging is that Lorna plays her mother in the series.

“Heavy drama talaga ito, and I feel so blessed that I’ve been given this opportunity to be part of Pahiram,” she continued. “To think that it’s almost the end of the year and still my prayers were answered.”

Also part of what GMA describes as its “casting coup” are Mark Gil, Alessandra de Rossi, Sandy Andolong, Roi Alvarez, Isabel Rivas, Neil Ryan Sese, Julio Diza, Kristoffer Martin, and Luz Valdez.
Pahiram ng Sandali premieres on November 26 on GMA Telebabad.
