GMA Network Inc. (GMA) emerged as the big winner at the 2nd People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) Makatao Awards for Media Excellence held recently at Hotel Intercontinental in Makati City.
The Kapuso network was once again hailed as TV Station of the Year, besting the competition for the second year in a row. The prestigious award recognizes the Network’s outstanding contributions in enhancing public understanding of the role and impact of good people management as a member of the mass media.
PMAP also recognized the Network’s efforts in providing viewers with quality programs upholding its vow to deliver Serbisyong Totoo. Its primetime flagship newscast 24 Oras won as the Best News Program.
24 Oras news anchor and multi-awarded broadcast personality Mel Tiangco was declared Best Female Newscaster.
Likewise, the award-winning and top rating news magazine program Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho was proclaimed as this year’s Best Public Affairs Program.
Also present in the ceremony was GMA Vice President for Human Resources Development Atty.
Gerrome Y. Apolona, who was one of the guest speakers in the event delivering a speech on behalf of GMA Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe L. Gozon.
“Ang award na ito ay pagkilala sa kakayahan at kapasidad ng ating Network na ipromote ang leadership at public service kaya’t malugod tayong nagpapa-salamat sa PMAP,” remarked Atty. Apolona.
