There’s no stopping Jed Madela from conquering the local concert scene. Before wrapping up another stellar year in his career, the “Grand Champion Performer of the World” bagged the Best Major Concert trophy at the 2012 Aliw Awards for his Beyond Expectations headliner at the Cultural Center of the Philippines in 2011.
This is the second time for Jed to bring home the award, with the first in 2011 for his A Classic Christmas Concert at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in 2010.
“Thankful ako that I am a recognized concert artist in the country. I am very blessed to have supporters who watch whenever I perform on a live stage,” said the talented singer.
Besides receiving another Aliw Award, Jed also won Best Recording Artist for two consecutive years at the Star Awards for Music—first for The Classics album then for “Breathe Again” this 2012. The Classics also landed the Revival Album of the Year Award in 2011, giving him a total of three Star Awards trophies in his keep.
Jed is also happy over his inclusion in the soundtrack of 2012’s most watched drama series, Walang Hanggan, whose album turned platinum in just four months of release. The track Ikaw Lang Ang Mamahalin features the balladeer in a very heartfelt rendition.
Already considered an icon in the local music industry, Jed is gearing up for his 10th year anniversary concert in May 2013 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. To be directed by Johnny Manahan, his special guests will be led by his “idol” Martin Nievera.
Currently Jed is busy working on his first album with Star Records. He will also be having out of town concerts in January, February and a US tour in April 2013.
