ILOILO CITY: Metrobank Foundation recently opened the search for Journalists of the Year for their contributions to positive change and national building in the print, television, radio and online media.
Aniceto Sobrepeña, president of the Metrobank Foundation said that the search for outstanding journalists is a venue for media entities to shine and show off their skills in their career to influence and develop their audiences toward constructive growth.
The contestants will have to show evidences of their accomplishment spanning 10 years or in five story submissions in hard copy, such as clippings or photocopied articles and soft copy in Microsoft (MS) word document for print media, DVD of video and link to online or uploaded video for television, CD/DVD of actual recording and link to online or uploaded recording for radio and printed copy of screen capture and link to material or MS word document for online contestant.
Deadline of nominations and requirements is on January 31, 2013, announcement of finalists and opening of online voting in May 2013, recognition of Journalists of the Year on June 2013 and Metrobank Foundation Fellowship Program in June to December 2013.
The journalist winners in four categories will each receive P300,000 cash and trophy and conferred with a Metrobank Foundation Fellowship Program in journalism. The fellows will deliver lectures before audiences composed of the academe, media professionals, civil society and business across the country.
