Tarlac village league chief yields arms cache

POLICE operatives arrested three persons and seized a cache of firearms and ammunitions after swooping down on a house owned by a local official in Victoria, Tarlac province on Wednesday.


Director Samuel Pagdilao Jr., Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) chief, said that their operatives raided the house of Mario Cajuigan, president of Association of Barangay Chairman, located at Barangay Balud in Victoria.

Seized from the local official’s house were a 9mm Luger Intratec rifle with two magazines; .22 pistol; .22 rifle; a silencer for 9mm pistol; 40 rounds of ammunition and 25 pieces of ammunition for a shotgun.

The CIDG chief said that also arrested in the raid were Danny Bautista; Ireneo Javier and Reynante Landingin, all are said to be bodyguards of Cajuigan who was not present during the raid.

Seized from the arrested persons were two shotguns, a .45 pistol and one magnum .357 revolver and several rounds of ammunition, the CIDG chief said.

Meanwhile, CIDG operatives also raided the house of Antonio Tan alias Tony in Barangay Cutcut, Angeles City and the house of Joselito Padilla in Cupang West, Balanga City, Bataan.

Recovered from Tan’s residence were a .45 pistol and several rounds of ammunition. Tan was not around when CIDG operatives swooped down on his house.
