LAGUNA POLICE COLLAR ROGUE RECRUITER
CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna: A rogue recruiter believed to have amassed a huge amount of money from unsuspecting jobseekers abroad was nabbed anew by Criminal Investigation and Detection Group operatives.

Senior supt Bernabe Balba, CIDG Region IV-A chief, said that at Barangay Turbina, Calamba city, recruiter Cristina Averion, 39, of Barangay Limao, Calauan, Laguna, was caught by police while in the act of receiving entrapment money from a victim whom she promised a job abroad in consideration of a sizeable amount as placement and other miscellaneous fees. Earlier, a certain Jenny Platon, a registered nurse accompanied by 17 other individuals sought police assistance claiming that on separate occasions, Averion misrepresented herself before them saying that she is connected with Crosswind Manpower Services in Malate, Manila. THREE-YEAR-OLD KILLED IN ACCIDENTAL SHOOTING
A THREE-year old girl was killed on Friday while she and her brother was toying with their father’s improvised gun inside their home in Bayugan City, Agusan del Sur province, police reports said on Saturday. Reports sent to the Philippine National Police operations center by Caraga regional police office identified the victim of accidental firing as Stella Dancalan Anog. The reports said that the accidental shooting took place at about 8:30 a.m. on Friday inside the Anog’s residence on P-10, Barangay Poblacion, Bayugan City. The fatality and her five-year-old brother were toying with an improvised gun when it went off hitting her in the face and killing her instantly, the reports said. The reports said that investigation by responding policemen revealed that the gun belongs to the victim’s father, Brian Saac Anog and three shotgun pellets were recovered from the scene. MIGRATORY BIRDS FETED IN BATAAN
BALANGA City, Bataan: Television host Kiko Rustia on Thursday expressed the hope that what the city is doing for the environment and the migratory birds will convince other areas in the country to do the same. “Sana maging susi ang ginagawang bird festival ng Balanga na makumbinsi ang ibang lugal at mahikayat sa tamang pangangalaga ng kalikasan at pangangalaga sa mga dayong ibon [May Balanga’s bird festival be the key to convince other sites on caring for nature and looking after migratory birds],” GMA 7’s Born to be Wild host said.
