A 60-year-old American tourist was found dead Monday evening inside his rented studio on Boracay Island, a popular tourist destination spot in Western Visayas region, police reports said Wednesday.
Regional police commander, Chief Supt. Agrimero Cruz Jr., in a report sent to Camp Crame identified the dead American as Fred Lubin, a long-staying tourist in Boracay, Aklan.
Lubin’s body was discovered at around 8:45 p.m. Monday at Room 12 of Boracay Studios in Diniwid, Balabag, Malay, Aklan, he added.
The victim’s family, the Department of Tourism and the US Embassy in Manila were already informed by the police about the fate of the American tourist, the police official said.
The police official added that the cause of Lubin’s death has yet to be determined since they are waiting for the victim’s family to arrive before any autopsy could be conducted.
