7 ILLEGAL FIRECRACKER MAKERS COLLARED                    
SEVEN illegal firecracker makers fell into the hands of the Provincial Intelligence Branch and Imus City police who raided their plant at Barangay Bucandala 3, Imus, Cavite. P/Supt. Romano

Cardino, intelligence provincial chief, and Imus P/Chief Supt. Redrico Maranan identified those arrested: Luciano Saliva, 58; Saldy Saliva, 54; Rowena Oliver, 43; Gerry Oliver, 42; Rudie dela Cruz; John Michael Abod, 19; and Cris Mark Cabugnason, 18—all residents of Imus. Confiscated in the possession of the suspects were paraphernalia, wrapping papers, explosive powder and finished firecrackers and pyrothecnics.

MAN SHOT DEAD IN FRONT OF HIS BROTHER
A middle-age man was shot and killed by unidentified gunmen on Wednesday in front of his brother in Esperanza, Agusan del Sur province, police reports said on Friday. Belated reports reaching the Philippine National Police operations center in Camp Crame identified the fatality as Antonip Salamangca, 41, of Purok 8, Barangay Salug in Esperanza town. The reports said that the shooting took place at about 8 p.m. on Wednesday, while the victim was talking to his brother, Dennis Salamangca at Purok 8, Barangay Poblacion, also of the said town. The reports said that the victim sustained gunshot wounds on his chin and right portion of his breast and was rushed to the Esperanza Medicare Community Hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival by attending physician.
