Aquino’s rating dips in all areas – SWS

PRESIDENT Benigno Aquino 3rd’s overall rating fell 12 points but was still at “very good”, according to the Social Weather Stations (SWS).

In its latest survey conducted from December 8 to 11, first published on BusinessWorld on Friday, SWS said that the President’s ratings fell in all socioeconomic classes and genders. Amid the slight drop, however, the President’s yearend rating still showed that Filipinos remain satisfied with his performance.

Based on the survey, Mr. Aquino’s rating was 12 percent lower than the +67 he got four months ago. The President got +55 which is still” very good” but lower than the  +62 score he got in 2010.

Malacañang did not express any concern over the slight drop in the people’s satisfaction with the President.

Undersecretary Abigail Valte, deputy presidential spokesman, maintained that although there is a dip on the rating, the President’s annual average is still “very good.”

“We think that it still shows that the President enjoys a very wide margin of support among the people and that’s nothing to cry about,” Valte said in a news briefing.

Political analyst Ramon Casiple said that the slight drop in Aquino’s rating could be associated with his stand on critical reforms this year like the reproductive health bill.

In the rural areas in Luzon, excluding Metro Manila and Visayas, the President’s net ratings fell among the ABC class from “excellent” to “very good.”

His rating fell 16 points in Luzon, 12 points in Visayas, 16 points in Metro Manila and four points in Mindanao.

His urban satisfaction rating fell from a “very good” +65 to a “good” +49, while his rural satisfaction rating fell to +60 (“very good”) from +70 (“excellent”).
