ATENEO De Manila University beat University of the Philippines (UP) 1-0; at the end of first round of University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) men’s football tilt Season 75 on Sunday at the Erenchun field inside the Ateneo campus.
Midfielder Leo Carlo Liay scored the lone goal at the 85th minute mark to send the undefeated Blue Eagles on top with five wins and a draw to get a leading 16 points.
The reigning champion Fighting Maroons, who fell to 3-2-1 win-loss-draw card with 10 points, failed to notch a goal despite repeated attempts in the last five minutes because of the Blue Eagles’ superior defense.

FEU currently has five wins and a loss equal to 15 points while UST dropped to two wins and four losses for six points.
