The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) supported the launching of the book Ang Pag-ibig sa Bayan ni Andres Bonifacio by National Artist Virgilio Almario published by the University of Santo Tomas Publishing House in partnership with the city government of Manila on November 30 at the Manila City Hall.
The book launch was graced by Mayor Alfredo Lim of Manila, Almario, NCCA Chairman Felipe de Leon, Jr. and different literary artists of the Philippines.
The book Ang Pag-ibig sa Bayan ni Andres Bonifacio is a homage to Philippine hero Andres Bonifacio as part of his 149th birth anniversary.
Besides the book launch, performances from Singer Sharon Quintero, mezzo-soprano Clarissa Ocampo, a showcase of “Tabbaw,” a presentation directed by Manila Councilor Lou Veloso, and an excerpt from San Andres B, an opera written by Almario and compositions of Chino Toledo, was also part of the program.
