There is no better time than the New Year to get rid of clutter and spring into a cleaner and fresher home.

It’s out with the old and in with the new.

There are simple ways to revamp and organize your home with furniture that will help give an old room that new look once again.

“January means a new year and a clean slate,” says Ryan Uy, managing director of Mandaue Foam. “Here at our company, we want to help our customers start the year right with more practical furniture for their homes. We always think about our customers while designing our furniture. We make sure that all our pieces are designed to be both attractive and functional.”

To start the New Year off on the right foot, here are a few tips you can pick up to turn your home indo a happier and cleaner abode.

• Slow, but steady wins the race. Focus on one room at a time as frustration is the enemy. If you tackle all the rooms at once, you may end up having a messier house than you began with.

• Space planning is the key to being clean and functional. Invest in proper shelving, baskets and ottomans to keep items off the floor. You can hide items in a storage ottoman that double as a seat and a storage container.

• Gather similar items together and place it where you use it. Keep items that you occasionally use such as plates and utensils in the kitchen within arm’s reach for easier access and practicality.

• Height is your friend. Adding tall shelves makes more room and takes advantage of every space available. Those bulky items that you rarely use should be placed in top to clear up space.

• Clean your drawers. People often amass catalogues and magazines in drawers then completely forget about them. Keep a designated area such as on top of coffee tables for guests to read as opposed to cluttering your drawer.

“Our designers make sure that we always offer different styles to match the different types of style and taste. Most importantly, all our pieces are practical and offer our customers a sense of home,” adds Uy. “Having a clean home not only minimizes stress for the New Year, it also helps save money.”
