Running enthusiasts brave ‘Immuvit Fearless Challenge Trail Run’

It was an event that truly tested their limits. Faced with challenges that involved mud, ice, oil, and fire, among others, more than 800 runners participated in the three-part series of the “Immuvit Fearless Challenge Trail Run.”

A run like no other, the event gave fitness aficionados an exhilarating experience that not only tested their skills but pushed their limits as well.

The series was held in different locations, each with a unique set of obstacles, following the brand’s message of living fully and aging fearlessly. As Pascual Consumer Healthcare Corporation brand manager Valerie Tan-Sison shared, each leg of the three-part series is meant to excite and challenge the participants in various ways via the twists they put to the usual running events.

The series started at the La Mesa Nature Reserve with Leg 1, called “No Surrender,” which served as a preview of what was in store for the next events. Leg 2, called “No Excuses,” focused on the Meta-Fit exercises conceptualized and designed by US-certified fitness expert and Immuvit brand ambassador Coach Jim Saret.

The “No Excuses” phase focused on testing and enhancing the physical fitness levels of the participants. This was where they performed what seemed like regular exercises that were brought several notches up by Coach Jim. Challenge stations featured the Rip 60 Challenge, Tire Flips, Wiper Push-ups, Tire Pull, Walking Lunges, and Burpee Box Jump—where the objective was to perform these exercises in proper form following the prescribed Meta-Fit standards. Coach Jim designed the Meta-Fit exercises to promote higher metabolism & energy, stronger bones, and lower blood sugar—in keeping with Immuvit’s goal of encouraging and enabling Pinoys to age fearlessly.

“We want to promote a lifestyle that combats ‘Somatopause,’ or ‘metabolism slowdown,’ that typically begins when one reaches his or her late 20s. The Meta-Fit challenges aim to determine the fitness level of the participants and find out whether their physical age is older or younger than their biological age. By knowing these, we will be able to help them address their fitness concerns so they can do more with their lives and therefore live fully,” Coach Jim explained.

Emerging as the fittest during the “No Excuses” leg were Jeff Arce for the Male-Beginner category and Cecille Yuson for the Female-Beginner category. Jovyrell Laroa and Irene Refil topped the Male and Female Advanced categories, respectively.

The final leg of the Immuvit Fearless Challenge Trail Run was held at Nuvali in Sta. Rosa, Laguna. Dubbed as “No Turning Back,” the participants braved obstacles that required them to cross a river, pass through an ice pool, leap over burning logs, crawl under & jump over wood planks of varying heights, and slither their way through mud.

Rostum Nava garnered the top prize for the 8K Male category, while Darling Jonafer Real got the top prize for the 8K Female category. And, indeed, there was no turning back for 16K Male and Female category winners Roger Denolo and Vilma Sta. Ana.

Winners for each of the three legs were awarded with cash prizes, gift packs, and winners’ trophies, while the Finishers brought home finisher’s medals, completion certificates, and loot bags from Pascual Consumer Healthcare Corporation.

“We are thankful for the support of the running community. Without doubt, the event series fulfilled its promise of pure thrill and fun, as each leg intensified and pushed the participants to challenge themselves as they gauge their level of fitness. Hopefully, we can continue to provide everyone with other venues that will encourage them to continue living fully as they age fearlessly,” Tan-Sison enthused.
