The United States on Tuesday asked the Philippines to reconsider an order banning its citizens from working in Iraq put in place after a Filipino truck driver was held hostage by Islamic militants.
The hostage, Angelo dela Cruz, was later released after intense negotiations, but the issue pushed the Philippines to withdraw its contingent from Iraq.
