IN an attempt to cut down on expenses, the government is studying the possibility of sharing the costs of maintaining national roads with “affluent” local government units (LGUs), an official of the Department of Finance said.
Ma. Presentacion R. Montesa, executive director of the Bureau of Local Government Finance, told reporters that the national government’s precarious financial condition prompted officials to consider asking LGUs to help shoulder the expenses in the maintenance and repair of roads.
