NORTH Rail Corp. is eyeing the extension of the North rail project up to Baguio in La Union province, a company official said.
In an interview, Jose L. Cortes Jr., North Rail Corp. chair and undersecretary for rail transport, said the government is considering the extension from the project’s Caloocan City terminal. Under the original plan funded through a $400-million loan agreement with the Chinese Export Import Bank, the North rail would run from Caloocan to Malolos in Bulacan.
