THE Sandiganbayan Special Division admitted on Thursday that the decision of former President Joseph Estrada to reengage the services of his former nine-man defense team could further delay the plunder trial, which has been in recess since April last year.

Special Division spokesman Renato Bocar said that since the letter of Estrada was “in the nature of a request” the court needs to study it first and come up with a resolution on it.
