The lawyer Samuel Estimo, secretary general of the National Chess Federation of the Philippines, on Thursday said his opponents were “forum shopping” after filing two civil cases that claimed the recent NCFP elections were illegal and that he had usurped the powers of the association’s treasurer, Constantino Marcaida.

Marcaida has filed two civil suits—Nos. 04-535 12 and 04-53561—with the Quezon City Regional Trial Court on Wednesday in a bid to nullify the results of the July 31 elections and compel Estimo to make a public accounting on the disbursement of the chess group’s funds.
