THE First Mayor Braulio D. Yaranon Fun Run in the 10K, 5K and 2K is the first salvo of activities for the month-long celebration of the 95th Charter Day Anniversary of the city. Youth aged 7 to 15 also participated in the event. Yaranon led the 2K with the children and their parents. At age 77, many were concerned about him, since he was recuperating from a recent illness, but Yaranon proved that he was physically fit and young at heart. He finished the 2K with no sweat at all and clocked in at 13.39 seconds.

By the way, Baguio became a chartered city 95 years ago and since then, 28 mayors governed it, 5 Americans and 23 Filipinos. This is the first time that a mayor of the city conceptualized the fun run for the youth. He wanted to instill among the youth that running is the cheapest sports event that makes one physically fit.
