THE country’s gross international reserves (GIR) stood at $15.964 billion as of end-August, or $11 million higher than July’s $15.953 billion, an official of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas said Tuesday.
Alberto V. Reyes, Bangko Sentral officer-in-charge, said this level is well above the central bank’s target of $14 billion to $15 billion for this year.
