THE competition was eaten alive at the box office, as Columbia Pictures’ action-adventure Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid opened at No. 1 in the Philippines for the September 1 to 5 weekend with an asphyxiating nation-wide gross of P31.45 million.
That figure represents Columbia’s second biggest opening of the year, bested only by Spider-Man 2, this was announced Monday, September 6 by Victor Cabrera, general manager of Columbia Pictures.
