SINGAPORE—The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas intervened to support the peso on Tuesday, buying the currency at a record low of 56.45 a dollar, Manila-based dealers said.
The currency, hurt by concerns over fiscal and trade woes, touched that record low on Monday. It was first hit in March.
