BAGUIO CITY—Baguio City kicked off over the weekend an Octoberfest for its elderly with a grand opening program at the Baguio Convention Center on Saturday with Rep. Mauricio Domogan and Mayor Braulio Yaranon as the principal guests.

Veteran newsman and former city councilor Nars Padilla, the president of the Baguio Elderly Association (BEA) and the event’s executive program coordinator, said the monthlong program is sponsored by the city government, BEA and the city social welfare and development office in line with President Arroyo’s Proclamation 470 declaring the first week of October of every year as “Linggo ng Katandaang Pilipino.”
