Quirimit, Valenzuela outrun field in national cycling time trial

ARNEL Quirimit was unstoppable in the elite division, and so was Irish Valenzuela in the juniors category, as both topped the individual time trial event of the National Cycling Open on Tuesday in Tagaytay City.

Already winner of the massed start race on Monday on an out-and-back course also in Tagaytay, Quirimit—the 2003 Tour Pilipinas champion and national mainstay—clocked a gold-medal winning time of 1 hour, 5 minutes and 34.77 seconds in the 39.7-km ITT for elite racers.
