I can’t understand the negative hype heaped upon the Armed Forces of the Philippines for its decision to retain custody of Maj. Gen. Car­los F. Gar­cia.

Some say the military’s refusal to turn over Garcia to the Sandigan­bayan sheriff was tantamount to breaking the constitutional provision of civilian supremacy over the military. The criticism is undeserved.
