THE Manila fire marshal and two other fire officials, who were found responsible in a graft case that led to a fire tragedy two years ago, continue to dispense their duties and functions despite a relief order issued by the Department of the Interior and Local Governments (DILG).

Supt. Pablo Cordeta, Manila Fire Department chief, refused to step down from his post, despite the suspension order released by the DILG in October.
