Warsaw, the capital of Poland, is one of the youngest European capitals from the age of its buildings and infrastructures. The German forces completely destroyed this city during the Second World War and smashed historic relics and monuments of Polish culture, leaving only a sea of rubble. Right after the devastating war, Warsaw started to revive quickly and totally rebuilt itself between 1971 and 1984.
