A few years back, I traveled in the northern part of India, a region of green fields and rocky landscapes with some ancient Hindu and Islamic stone architecture. Many of these towns and villages are densely populated. In my sketchbooks, I captured the intensity of my vision, the color, mood and movement of my surroundings especially the eternal city of Varanasi once called Banaras.
