The International Intellectual Property Alliance (IIPA) is recommending to the US Trade Representative (USTR) that the Philippines be kept on the Priority Watch List for continuing violation of intellectual property rights.
The IIPA complains that broadband access has increased the number of illegal downloads and sales of “burned” CD-Rs and DVD-Rs. Optical disc piracy increased in 2004, despite well-publicized raids on copying facilities.
