The Department of Energy (DOE) over the weekend said that the power outage that hit Metro Manila on Saturday was the result of the tripping of transmission facilities, not the insufficiency of power supplies.
“This incident is isolated and need not be interpreted as summer brownouts but internally with the Energy department, we will look into this,” Jose Rene Almendras, department secretary, said.
