TOKYO: People on a storm-battered island in Japan took shelter on Friday, as another typhoon looked set to sideswipe the coast. Typhoon Francisco, packing winds of up to 160 kilometers per hour, was located east of the main Okinawan island around noon with the center expected to pass by Oshima, some 120 kilometers south of Tokyo, in 24 hours. The much stronger Typhoon Lekima was further east and on course to meet Francisco in the northern Pacific.
