Angel Locsin

Angel Locsin rose to stardom in 2004 when she portrayed Alwina of Mulawin, the first fantaserye of GMA-7, which was then the young actress’ TV station. During the same period, an avalanche of endorsement deals also came the beautiful actress’ way including one from direct selling company for women, Avon.

Eleven years later—with Angel’s transfer to ABS-CBN in 2007 in between—the big name celebrity remained to be one of the company’s most trusted and admired celebrity ambassadors.

This month, Angel graced anew the cover of Avon’s May brochure as “color ambassador” of a limited edition makeup collection called Tropical Paradise.

On May 21, Avon Philippines led by general manager Emie Aguilar hosted an event themed “Cirque du Paradis” to officially celebrate the renewed partnership with Angel. Held at the Amber Ultra Lounge in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, the night saw riveting performances from Pole Cats and a fashion show featuring the clothes of Filipino designer Tina Daniac.

But the highlight remained to be the appearance of Angel who wore a sexy ocean-blue creation by Daniac complemented by her sultry Tropical Paradise look.

“I am forever grateful for being part of the amazing Avon family. I have been with Avon for [over] 10 years now and being their makeup endorser was my first Avon ambassador role. Sila ang unang nagtiwala sa akin,” the sentimental Angel shared.

The actress also had the chance to be reunited with the very first Avon staff that she worked with. “I’m happy na nakita ko uli ‘yung same people na nakatrabaho ko from Avon when I was just starting [my career in the industry],” she told reporters during an interview.

Since she joined the company for women in 2004, Angel had endorsed various color collections for the brand. But in more recent years, Anne Curtis replaced her as makeup endorser. Even then, the company never let go of its relationship with Angel by giving her signature perfume lines to represent.

“Now, as I return as the spokesperson for the makeup line, I want to say that it feels wonderful to be with a brand you truly believe in,” she expressed.

Featuring a trio of lipstick, pressed powder, and quad eyeshadow, Tropical Paradise is inspired by cool hues of clear blue waters, stunning warm corals, and intense tropical touches.

After shooting her makeup campaign with Avon, Angel returned to filming a movie with veteran actress Vilma Santos, the mother of her boyfriend Luis Manzano. She is also busy preparing for her next series for ABS-CBN, Darna.
