Mabuhay Lanes UP until June 2016

The alternate routes called Mabuhay Lanes will last until June 2016. Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Emerson Carlos said the decision for it to continue will be up for the next administration. The Mabuhay lanes cover 17 alternate roads for private vehicles to avoid the congested EDSA coming from both the North to South directions. To keep these roads from obstruction, a composite traffic and clearing operations teams of the MMDA, local government units, and Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group (HPG) are constantly conducting operations in the areas. The Mabuhay lanes were also envisioned to improve traffic flow in anticipation of the Christmas season. Carlos said the MMDA strictly implements the no parking rule along Mabuhay lanes.
