Top guns enjoy first day at new South Korean slope

JEONGSEON, South Korea: As great as reaching the podium was, the top skiers at the Alpine Ski World Cup men’s downhill race on Saturday in South Korea said they enjoyed themselves on the brand new slope. Jeongseon Alpine Centre in eastern South Korea is hosting its first World Cup race, a test event ahead of the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics. Kjetil Jansrud of Norway emerged as the winner in 1min, 41.38 sec, beating Dominik Paris of Italy by 0.2 second. Steven Nyman of the United States came in third at 1:41.79.
